Wee Threads NI began its journey in May 2024, although at the time it was known as Tiny Threads NI.

What started as a frustration with the lack of choice on the high street quickly became a passion and eventually a business. As a parent, I found myself disappointed by the options available for children's clothing. Boys clothes felt repetitive, dull and covered in the same tacky slogans and images, while girls clothing seemed to be dominated by flowers, frills and stereotypes. I wanted something different - bright, vibrant, fun clothing that allowed children to express their personalities, regardless of whether they were boys or girls.

With no formal sewing experience, of I went to YouTube to teach myself from scratch with tutorials, plenty of trial and error, and a lot of determination. What began as a hobby soon became an obsession as I discovered the joy of creating unique, colourful clothing that simply couldn't be found in the shops.

As my skills grew, so did Tiny Threads NI. What started with a sewing machine and a vision gradually developed into a small business with fellow parents who shared my love for bold fabrics and handmade quality. Every item I created helped build the confidence and experience needed to take the next step.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been the incredible community that has grown alongside the business. What began with a handful of customers soon turned into a loyal following of families who returned time and time again, supporting each new collection, sharing photos of their little ones, and cheering on every milestone. Many of these customers have been with me since the very beginning, and their support has helped shape Wee Threads NI into what it is today.

These loyal supporters have become much more than customers - they are the Wee Threads NI Members. They are the heart of the business, helping to create a welcoming community built around a shared love of colourful, high quality children's clothing. Their encouragement, feedback and continued support have been invaluable throughout every stage of this journey. 

In August 2025, I launched my very first website, marking a huge milestone in the business. For the first time, customers could browse and order directly online, helped Tiny Threads NI reach even more families across the UK.

As the business continued to grow, I wanted a brand name that felt even more connected with home. While Tiny Threads NI represented where the journey began, Wee Threads NI felt like a natural evolution. The word "wee" is woven into everyday life here in Northern Ireland, and anyone that knows me personally or has had a conversation with me, will know how often I use it. Rebranding to Wee Threads NI allowed the business to embrace its Northern Irish roots while keeping the same heart, values, and passion that customers had come to know.

On 21st June 2026, Wee Threads NI entered a new chapter with the launch of a brand new Shopify website. This relaunch represents not only how far the business has come, but also the exciting future ahead. From a self taught beginner watching YouTube tutorials in 2024 to running a growing online handmade clothing brand, the journey has been built on creativity, resilience, and a determination to offer something different.

Today, Wee Threads NI remains to committed to creating bright, vibrant, handmade children's clothing that stands out from the crowd. Every stitch, every design, and every collection reflects the original vision that started it all: giving children clothing that is fun, colourful, and made to be loved.
